We need to have your physical address; we cannot use a PO Box to send services to your home- for example an ambulance. We can use a PO Box for billing. Please empty you telephone/ cell phone voice mailbox. We cannot leave messages for you otherwise.

Emergencies:

If you are having a life threatening medical event- such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, unable to swallow, stroke symptoms, uncontrolled bleeding, anaphylaxis (allergic reaction), severe pain any body part, severe fractures, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For severe situations we advise 911 only do not drive yourself to the ER. Do not call the office first. Severe health concerns may be time sensitive and require immediate care.

Signs of Stroke in Men and Women

Call 9-1-1 right away if you or someone else has any of these symptoms.

F—Face: Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?

A—Arms: Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?

S—Speech: Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is the speech slurred or strange?

T—Time: If you see any of these signs, call 9-1-1 right away.

2020 Changes with Control Medication:

We have been informed by some mail order companies that as of 2020 they will no longer accept a fax, written, mailed, or verbal prescription for controlled medications- i.e.: Pain medication, anxiety meds (Xanax, Lorazepam), ADD medications to name a few. We recommend you fill these medications at your local pharmacy. In the future the office will be able to prescribe via an Electronic Controlled Prescription Program. It is reported to be mandatory in 2021 and we are actively looking into implementing this. It will be a long and costly addition to our office, and we do not expect compliance until the end of 2020. You can check with your mail order pharmacy to see if this will affect you directly.

Skin Care Products:

We also now carry a medical grade line of skin care products from ALASTIN Skincare. This company has biopsy proven results showing improvement into the deeper layers of skin from regular use of their skin care products. This line supplements the Temp Sure treatments but can also be used without the treatments. We have limited ALASTIN products for sale in the office at a small discount, otherwise they are available at www.ALASTIN.com , choose our office on the web site when ordering.

TempSure Envi / Aesthetic Services / Facials:

We are offering 20% discounts to anyone who books their Temp Sure skin treatments by December 31, for treatments provided by January 31. Temp Sure treatments are offered to the general public in addition to patients in this practice.

You can ask the over 30 patients treated so far just how effective this warm massage like treatment has been for them.

Dr. Metreveli has moved on from his surgical practice in Delaware, we wish him well. Since we now have more room available, we will be expanding our aesthetic skin care services.

Tiffany will be offering facial treatments at a discount for the holidays. Contact the office for details. Also, Patricia will be joining us part time as another aesthetician. Tiffany and Patricia will be offering more skin care services in the future as well as providing TempSure treatments. We do have gift certificates available for holiday gift giving or special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, for Temp sure treatments, ALASTIN skin care products and facial treatments.

Student:

Thank You!

Some of you have been patients in the office when our nurse practitioner students have been present. We appreciate your allowing them to observe, interact with and examine you, as this goes a long way to help with their practical medical education. Margo, who was with us for the fall has left our office, and we wish her the best as she continues her medical education. Starting in February we will welcome our next NP student, Connie who is completing her nurse practitioner training in 2020.

Healthy Tips:

Remember with the wintry weather now upon us don’t forget to moisturize your skin. Providing skin hygiene with good skin care products, a healthy diet, enough rest, avoidance of smoking and use of humidifiers with forced air heat are important for skin care. Preventing disease with vaccines including Flu and Pneumonia vaccines should not be overlooked. Always be aware of your surroundings in and out of the house as winter is notorious for slips and falls. Remember to get your yearly Physical Exam!
